Time Flies

I have been in a weird mood lately…I’ve had a lot on my mind, lots of emotions, I’ve been sick with what I think must be a sinus infection because I’ll feel better and then it will come back again. Sigh. Can’t say anymore than that really.

This song is stuck in my head…it just explains things so perfectly for me for my mood…Lykke Li rocks. That is all.

Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

I sit tight, don’t wanna miss the show
I hang on, don’t wanna miss my prime
Time will fly, upon my baby’s back
Time will fly, upon my baby’s back

Stay awhile, my baby wants me to
Don’t you go, my baby begs me so
But tide will dry, upon my baby’s back
Tide will dry, upon my baby’s back

And I get weak, I get weary
I miss sleep, I get moody
I’m in thoughts, I write songs
I’m in love, I walk on

So, fingers crossed, my time is coming now
Don’t you go, my baby begs me so
Time will fly, upon my baby’s back
Time will fly, upon my baby’s back

And I get weak, I get weary
I miss sleep, I get moody
I’m in thoughts, I write songs
I’m in love, I walk on

So, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

My Throat Hurts But Still Joyful

This is my sicky face...

My throat started hurting yesterday afternoon…and now it still hurts today and I feel all achy and yucky. Not sure how I got sick, but that’s okay. Still joyful. Sort of. Allow me to convince myself:

What I have to be joyful about today

  • I got to spend Friday evening with my niece (Amelia Baby Girl), sister, and Fluffy at the Christmas Parade! The streets were jam-packed with people and cars and Santa hats and glitter, but it was very cheerful and joyful. Made me bust out sporadically into Christmas songs ;)
  • Amelia spent the night at our house so her Mama could hang out with a friend of hers from out of town. We watched Disney movies and made my famous Chocolate Chip Flax cookies together! (recipe some other time when I’m not at work without my pictures..oops)
  • I got the windshield on my car replaced (finally)! A couple months ago I drove over a rock on the freeway and it created a crack on the bottom corner of my windshield which has been slowly creeping across it ever since. It’s so nice to finally have a clear view of the road. (Good times).
  • I got to take a nap and snuggle with my Fluffy yesterday while watching Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix. Took my mind off of the sore throat I was developing, and plus my Fluffy made me tea and apple cinnamon oatmeal. He’s my hero. :)
  • I was still okay enough to go to work today, and now I get to sit here and blog on my lunch break, even though I’ll have to use crappy clip art in place of the pictures I might have used…

So see? It’s not all bad being sick…nothing to stop me from blogging, and being Christin Joyful!

I love songs about my middle name...

On that note, let me go ahead and plug in a Joyful Christmas Carol: (brought to you by http://www.carols.org.uk/ba27-joy-to-the-world.htm

Joy to the World Lyrics
Christmas Carol Lyrics

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

Hope you all have a great and Joyful day!

December Goals

So here I am at my desk at work, rockin’ out to a Christmas CD, munching on an amazing Chocolate Oreo Ball (that’s what my boss who made it calls it…I call it Death By Chocolate In Ball Form). I have plans to go to the Christmas Parade this evening with my Sistar (my sister Alison) and my niece Amelia Baby Girl (only her Auntie gets to call her that), and of course my Fluffy. I also plan on pulling out all the Christmas decorations this weekend to get the house ready. I plan on going on my 4 mile run, and I also plan on working out with my Kettlebell. Time to make some goals for the month before I get lost in all the shopping and confusion and chaos and food that makes up the month of December.

December is a crappy month for fitness goals. There is so much available in the way of treats and holiday events that it would be impossible to try to reconcile myself to being cautious in that regard. I could, but where is the fun in that? I have so many other boring (food-wise) months to do that…like January…what a useless month, right? Sorry if you were born in January, that sucks for you…Haha! :)

So the best I think I can commit to is to try to incorporate some healthy habits, rather than try to restrain non-healthy ones. And these habits include mental, physical, and emotional health-oriented habits/goals.

So here are my goals!!

  1. Read my daily devotional each morning.
  2. Have at least 1 fruit or veggie with every meal to counteract all the sugar I am sure to eat.
  3. Attend Body Pump each Wednesday, and continue my 4-mile runs each Saturday.
  4. Finish The Thirteenth Tale and read one additional book.
  5. Bake at least 3 different types of Christmas cookies.
  6. Go Christmas caroling at least once.

That sounds doable and semi-holiday oriented to me…I think this will be a good December.

One thing that I think will help is Janetha’s Dedicated December Challenge…maybe I’ll get more workouts in than I thought, who knows?

Anyway, I encourage you to participate too…why not? Couldn’t hurt to have some extra motivation in the way of possibly winning some great prizes, right?

Also this month, my wonderful parents will be home from Japan! I am looking forward to visiting with them and sharing the holidays with them. In case you don’t know, my parents are missionaries in Japan. They have been there for several years now, and though they have a lot on their plates right now, especially in the wake of the Tsunami Disaster, they are still going strong.
